March 14 Vs. Lamar 2-0
This was just the kind of game we needed to prepare for the playoffs. With the
halftime score at 0-0 the girls talked about what adjustments to make after
allowing the Lamar offense more shots than they took the whole game in our last
matchup with them. Blair Williams was steady in the goal to earn the 11th
shutout with help from the defense. The offense had much better runs and
passing in the second half. Tasha Anasi collected a through ball from Brittany
Sanders on the right side for a shot. Mandy Burgardt put in the deflection as
the Lamar keeper did not hold the ball. Anasi converted the free kick after
Anna Lavis was fouled to get the second goal. Good job achieving the season
goal of an undefeated district season with an overall record of 21-3!!!!!!! On
to the PLAYOFFS!!!
March 11 Vs.

Hill 5-1
THE LADY WARRIORS CLINCHED THEIR SIXTH CONSECUTIVE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP TONIGHT
and now have 20 wins overall!
The game was moved from a soggy Martin pitch to the turf at Cravens for a
beautiful night of soccer. The Lady Warriors honored the seniors and their
families at halftime.
Mandy Burgardt opened the scoring in the first 30 seconds on a nice through ball
from Tasha Anasi. Burgardt got the hat trick on two more assists from Anna
Lavis before the half. Ryan Wells did a great job going in to save a PK. Cedar
Hill's only goal came when the ball deflected off of our defender into the net
by mistake. Tasha Anasi fired a rocket into the net on a free kick midway into
the second half. Her next shot was deflected, shot by Amy Jah and deflected
then finished by Brittany Sanders on the back post.
Overall Record 20-3 District Record: 13-0 DISTRICT CHAMPS CLINCHED!
March 7 Vs. Bowie score 4-1
It was another cold windy night for soccer as the Lady Warriors took on a more
motivated Volunteer squad. Amy Jah had a big night with two goals and an assist
in the first half. The Warriors went up 3-0 by the half with another goal by
Mandy Burgardt. Bowie came up with a wind aided goal in the second half. The
Warriors added one more from Tasha Anasi. Alicia Cox, Kelsey Hamann and Anna
Lavis added assists.
Overall Record 19-3 District Record 12-0
March 5 Vs. Duncanville score 4-0
The Warriors took charge with two goals in the first twenty minutes of the game.
Kelsey Hamann nicely played a ball from the left side to Mandy Burgardt alone
in front of the goal and she tapped it into the net with ease. Lauren Wilson
made an impact immediately off the bench as she made a nice run on the left to
beat three defenders then found Tasha Anasi running on the far post for goal
two. Mandy headed in an Anasi corner kick as the Warriors went up 3-0 before
the half. The defense played well as they continually beat the Panthers to the
ball out of the back. Blair Williams was strong in the goal to earn our 10th
shutout. The Warriors have not given up a goal in second round of district
play! Amy Jah closed out the scoring in the second half to make it 4-0 when she
touched a deflected shot by Wilson away from the defender and pushed it past the
D'ville keeper. Martin recently moved into the top spot in the rankings by the
Star-Telegram and is ranked #4 among area teams by the Dallas Morning News.
Overall Record: 18-3 District Record: 11-0
February 29 Vs. Desoto score 8-0

shutout of the second round of district play.

February 26 Vs. Arlington score 3-0
The Lady Warriors seemed determined not to have a repeat of the previous matchup
with the Colts and went up 3-0 in the first half. Possession by either team was
made difficult by the small field and aggressive play on each end. The Warrior
defensive held up its end to earn the seventh shutout of the season.

field! It was a history making night for the team as they earned the 400th win
for the program! The booster club added to the festive occasion with signs
around the field and the girls presented Coach Knight with a signed poster
picture, 400 tshirt, flowers and a sweatshirt with all of the girls names
embroidered on it!

Burgardt. Tasha Anasi broke free on a quick dribbling run on the left and

as everyone got into the game.
Overall Record: 14-3 District Record: 7-0
February 15 Vs. Cedar Hill won 4-2
It was drizzling and cold again. The turf was very slick resulting in
unpredictable situations throughout the match. Cedar Hill was physical as
expected. The referees were questionable. The Warriors responded to it all
with a good passing game, defensive coverage, better communication, good
teamwork and a good sense of humor. Mandy Burgardt led the attack with 2 goals
and an assist. Michelle Bubenik added two goals. They were assisted by Tasha
Anasi and Brittany Sanders.
Overall Record 13-3 District Record 6-0
February 12 Vs. Bowie won 6-0

in goal number two when Mandy Burgardt's shot deflected off of the post. Burgardt
got goals #3 and #4 on the evening and both were assisted by Michelle Bubenik.
First half score 4-0. The second half saw the Warriors continue the shot
barrage. Lexi Castellano scored unassisted followed by Alicia Cox minutes later
on an assist from Erin Moore. It was good to see Rachel Patchen back on the
field for the first time since injuring her ankle in the Northwest Tournament.
Blair Williams enjoyed the opportunity to get into the action on the other end
of the field in this one. Overall record: 12-3 District Record: 5-0
February 8 Vs. Duncanville won 3-1
Good teamwork all over the pitch resulted in a Warrior goal midway into the
first half. Amy Jah deflected a ball crossed from the right that Rylle Pannell
one touched just inside the post. The defense held strong with good coverage
against Duncanville's attacks late in the first half. Rylle Pannell had a great
game as she helped control the midfield!
Mandy Burgardt and Amy
Jah combined well on the right side in the second half with Jah contributing two
goals assisted by Kelsey Hamann and Mandy Burgardt. Blair Williams' strong
defensive play rejected several Duncanville attempts in the second half.
Duncanville converted an exceptional free kick with 10 minutes to go in the second half
just over the outstretched hands of Ryan Wells.
Overall record: 11-3 District Record: 4-0
February 5 Vs. Desoto won 9-3
This game was played on Wednesday after lightening strikes continued near
Carrell Stadium in Desoto for over an hour on Tuesday. The team had a good
passing attack game and went up 3-0 early in the first half with Mandy Burgardt
getting a hat trick and then scored a fourth before the half. Anna Lavis added
a PK goal. Kelsey Hamann enjoyed the evening as she added two goals and two
assists and had fun playing forward part of the game. Tasha Anasi got involved
in the attack with a goal and two assists. Tookie Wilson had a goal and
Brittany Sanders had an assist as well. The defense was challenged despite the
lopsided score with Blair Williams and Ryan Wells each goaltending a half.
Overall record: 10-3 District Record: 3-0
February 1 Vs. Arlington score 2-1
Arlington capitalized on a passing error in the defense against an unorganized
Warrior defense. Lexi Castellano settled the defense and played well as Martin
had several good chances attacking in the first half into a stiff wind. The
equalizer came on a Jessi Barbre goal on an touch from Mandy Burgardt on a
corner kick from Kelsey Hamann about half way through the second half. Tasha
Anasi scored the go ahead goal on the end of Burgardt's second assist of the
evening to seal the Warrior's second district victory. Overall record 9-3

Allison Horn Memorial Showcase Results
Coppell (lost 2-0)
It was an uninspired and unorganized first half as the Warriors allowed two
goals against fast paced Coppell . Their off the ball movement and accurate
passing proved the Warriors undoing. The girls did have a better showing with
increased intensity, better passing and movement in the second half.
Record: 5-3
Plano West (won 3-2)
The Lady Warriors picked up right where they left off the night before giving up
a goal on a through ball. As Toni Schneider helped stabilize the defense moving
from outside mid, a better passing game resulted in more opportunities on the
attacking end. Mandy Burgardt struck first with the equalizer heading in a corner by Meredith Norman. Kelsey Hamann added the second goal on a skidding
free kick that left everyone watching, including the goalkeeper, as it slipped
inside the near post. The third goal was off of Toni Schneider's centering
pass to Tasha Anasi, as she made a nice touch toward the goal and finished.
The 2007 defending state champions made it an exciting ending putting in a
late second goal when Blair Williams was unable to hold onto a crossed ball
after she was bumped coming out to collect a cross.
Record: 6-3
South Grand Prairie (won 5-1)
This was Martin's third time this season to score five goals in a game. Mandy
Burgardt was very effective on the attack and was involved in four of the five
goals with two goals and two assists. Tasha Anasi scored first on a great
individual effort after the previous Martin attacks were collected or tipped
wide by the SGP GK. Sarah added to the attack with an assist and goal. Erin
Moore closed out the scoring.

Varsity Take Fourth at Northwest
Wylie:score 5-2
We gave up an easy goal with a miscommunication on a pass into the defense that
a Wylie attacker capitalized on in the first five minutes of play. Thankfully
the Warriors answered quickly scoring when Rylle Pannell found Amy Jah open in
the midfield and Amy turned it into our first goal of the five scored. Brittany
Sanders converted a penalty kick awarded when Sarah Allen was taken down in the
box.
Goal #3 was also scored by Sanders when she ran a Kelsey Hamann corner kick into
the net from the back side. Carlye Bower's goal was next with an Amy Jah
assist. Kim Weeks sent a nice cross into the middle for a nice one touch into
the goal by Toni Schneider. The keepers split halves with each giving up a
goal, the second was an unfortunate PK with Ryan Wells defending.
Northwest: score 5-1
The Warriors gave one up early but stayed on the attack the majority of the
night in game two of the tournament. Amy Jah set up almost identical goals over
the keeper's hands when she laid passes back to Michelle Bubenik and Toni
Schneider for our first two scores. Anna Lavis glanced a cross from Brittany
Sanders to the feet of Lauren Wilson (Tookie!) for a goal. Amy's third assist
for the evening was to Erin Moore and Brittany Sanders scored the last goal from
the far post on Kelsey Hamann's free kick. Blair Williams had a great save on
a Northwest free kick as she just pushed it over the upright followed by another
nice save on a second free kick. Ryan Wells also made a nice save on a cross
late in the second half.
Permian: score 1-3
The Warriors struggled to get into a rhythm the entire game as Permian played
with intensity throughout the match, making several nice combinations to get
behind the defense. It seemed as if the two games the night before had taken a
toll, especially in such cold conditions. Blair Williams had several nice saves
in the second half to maintain a bit of dignity for us, as did a late goal by
Carlye Bowers that was assisted by Amy Jah, who continues to lead the Warrior
attack in goals scored and with assists.
Allen: score 0-2
Fatigue was noticeable on both sides and this was almost a contest to see which
team could finish the game as there were numerous times when neither team seemed
to want to chase the ball another time. Ryan Wells was strong in the goal and
made several nice saves. The Warriors placed fourth in the tournament.

Game #1- vs. Granbury won 2-0
Goals: Carlye Bowers, Amy Jah Assists: Amy Jah, Tasha Anasi
It was a good start, but it did take some time for us to adjust to the wide
field. The first goal was score with 3 minutes left in the first half when Amy
Jah's cross from the right resulted in a quick turn by Carlye Bowers for the
score.
Amy Jah knocked in a corner from Tasha Anasi in the second half for the second
goal. Tasha Anasi helped dominate the middle while Alicia Cox and Lexi
Castellano led the defense to our first shutout.
Game #2- vs. Abilene HS won 4-0
Goals: Brittany Sanders, Rachel Patchen, Mandy Burgardt 2
Assists: Tasha Anasi, Brittany Sanders 2, Carlye Bowers

Tasha Anasi. Rachel Patchen followed up Sander's next shot that deflected off
of the crossbar and put it in for goal #2. Mandy Burgardt added two more goals
to put the Warriors up 4-0 in the first half. All the girls saw action in the
second half with some near misses into a stiff wind.
Championship- vs. Wylie won 1-0
Goal:
Amy Jah
The Warriors were definitely more challenged by a speedy Wylie team, but finally
put the nail biter away in the last ten minutes on a great individual effort by
Amy Jah as she made a nice run on the goal to beat several defenders after
receiving the ball from Mandy Burgardt at the midline. It was good to see us
persistent even though our passing game was off throughout. Alicia Cox and Lexi
Castellano continued to stabilize the defense despite several quick counter
attempts by fast Wylie forwards. Blair Williams added an awesome diving save on
the ground at the end of the second half to preserve the shutout.
